The beginnings ... Growing up on the beach in Southern California, surfsquirt® owner Robin Hoffman Haack was influenced by a father who loved to surf. Along with that passion, her family has always been directly involved in the textiles business, where Hawaiian prints are their specialty and trade through hoffmanfabrics.net. "I was always wearing clothes made by my father's customers!", states Robin. "Being involved in Horse Shows, I moved away from the beach for quite a few years, but I continued to find myself still wearing all these cool beach prints. In my free time, I sold fabrics to small clothing manufacturers. In 1996, I got the opportunity to move back to the beach with my young daughter and I decided to rejoin the family textiles business, once again. Then, one day while talking with a friend I grew up with, we were talking about kids clothing when the subject came up about: 'how hard it is to find quality kids clothing with these great Hawaiian prints in sizes and styles small enough for our children'." She said, "Robin, with your creativity and access to the materials, you should be the one that creates and offers the clothing line with those fabrics." So, from that day, I decided I would give it a try. I designed a couple of styles and took them to some of our local shops to sell. They went over very well and kid's, most importantly, loved to wear them. The line has since grown into a versatile and unique children's clothing brand that is constantly growing and evolving.
